“Bitcoin doesn’t use energy. People do. People express their values — what they find worthwhile and important in life — in how they spend energy.” -Resistance Money (a book)
Bitcoin is not a large user of energy. People have dedicated immense amounts of energy to Bitcoin because they find it immensely valuable. Bitcoin only “uses” energy that people dedicate to it.
”The most intelligent men, like the strongest, find their happiness where others would find only disaster: in the labyrinth, in being hard with themselves and with others, in effort; their delight is in self-mastery; in them asceticism becomes second nature, a necessity, an instinct.” -Friedrich Nietzsche
“I hope for nothing, I fear nothing, I am free.” -Nikos Kazantzakis
“What if I should discover that the poorest of the beggars and the most impudent of all offenders are within me; and that I stand in need of the alms of my own kindness, that I, myself, am the enemy who must be loved — what then?” -Carl Jung
