Pause for a Moment
Pause for a moment.
Stop what you’re doing. Be here, right now.
You only get one life.
Again, because you need to understand.
You only get one life.
All the stresses, worries, problems, doubts, failures, mistakes, and fears will go away. They’ll be gone.
How you leave this world will stay. How you touch this planet in your short time here will trickle down for the rest of time.
Live like you’re only living once. Because you are. Dance, sing, share, love, laugh, smile, compliment, encourage, travel, experience.
You are getting one shot at this thing called life. One. That’s it. Imagine how you would act if you only had one more day to spend with your best friend. How would you feel? How much would you cherish each second? You would extract as much as you could out of that day as possible.
You have one day with life. The sun has already risen and it will set. Extract as much as you can in the meantime.
Screw the naysayers, do it anyway. Do it your way.
Find out all that you can become. You are your only limit. Don’t limit yourself.
Learn, but only what you want to learn. Don’t be force-fed life. Take your helping at your leisure. It’s your journey to walk, so walk it. You can run, too. Your pace is your pace. Ask for help along the way. Help others along their way.
Take life head on. Wonder what’s out there and then discover what is.
Look around once in a while. Look at all the beauty, the awe, the mystical, the purity that life is showing you. Hop on an airplane and know how incredible that is. Be grateful for all that there is.
Tell people how much they mean to you. Have the tough conversations.
To find peace you need to let the armor go. Lay down the armor, stop protecting your heart. Don’t shield who you are from the world. You are the only you who will ever experience this world in the way that you experience it. That is special. You are special. Openly express your uniqueness to the utmost degree, because that’s what makes you you and when you don’t, when you portray somebody or something else, you are robbing yourself of yourself.
Do things that scare you so you understand that fear is a fallacy. Watch your mind cower in fright and do it afraid anyway.
Find the things you love doing, then DO THEM. Over and over. You’re afforded one chance at the gift of life, find love and live love, with yourself, with others, with the world.
Do activities for the sake of the activity itself. Play basketball because you love playing basketball. Lift weights to actually lift the weight. Read the book to read the book.
Don’t chase outcomes, don’t chase externalities. Don’t chase at all, just experience. You’ll get there. All that is meant to be will find its way to thee.
Take more chances, dance more dances. You can sum it up with that sentence.
Go out and explore. Be curious. Ask stupid questions. Come up short, go above and beyond, hold a door open, invest in the future, spend your money.
Find your True North. Only you can know what that is.
Sleep in, wake up early. Stay up late, go to bed early.
If you don’t want to do it, you don’t have to, but don’t make excuses. There are a million reasons not to do anything.
Be honest, always and forever. With yourself first and foremost. The truth is only offensive when we’re lying.
Practice acceptance, without disdain. It isn’t things that disturb us, it is our judgment about them.
Clarify your mind, clarify your life. Journal. Write about it all. At the least, it’s fun to look back on.
Forgive yourself.
Watch your language, watch what you say. It’s called spelling for a reason.
Do fun things with fun people. Do boring things with fun people. Have fun. Everywhere. If it’s not fun, you’re not doing it right.
Act as if the world is a dark place and you are the only one that can bring light into it.
Don’t be stressing, life’s a blessing.
You only live once. You don’t know when it will be over, but you do know you’re alive right now.
Go out and live.
Press play.
