Bitcoin & Ayahuasca

A Costa Rica Trip.

In December of 2023, I sat with ayahuasca for the first time.

I wrote about the experience in a newsletter post afterward, but there was one part of my journey that I left out.

One night, shortly after consuming the medicine, I was lying on my mat, and a word popped into my consciousness.

“Bitcoin”

The instant the word appeared in my mind, a ball of warm, beautiful light formed around my being. It started off small, but it was this golden yellow, radiant, effervescent energy that somehow I was able to be aware of.

The more I thought about Bitcoin outside of myself, the more I thought about Bitcoin spreading to other parts of the world, the more the golden light expanded.

The more the light expanded, the more I became utterly filled and held by this beautiful energy.

As this continued, I thought about Bitcoin making its way all the way around the world, reaching the point of becoming global money. The entire globe was united around Bitcoin.

At that moment, the furthest bounds of my consciousness were totally consumed by warmth, light, and peace. The golden yellow ball of Bitcoin had consumed my entire being. But it wasn’t just my being, it was all beings. It was everywhere. It was Mother Earth and all of her inhabitants.

I cannot tell you how incredible this experience and feeling was. It was like love, peace, joy, and grace were blended with the Sun, and I was part of the concoction. How can you explain that? 😂

This all took place over a period of 7-8 minutes.

It’s still tough to wrap my head around. But I don’t need to.

What I can tell you is that Bitcoin is infinitely better than you can imagine. All of the words, podcasts, theories, models, ramblings and so on… they’re infinitely short of Bitcoin’s true Divinity. Imagine trying to describe total peace with the words “total peace.”

Maybe the most beautiful thing about Bitcoin is that, one day, it won’t have to be theorized and described. It will be lived, holistically. It won’t be debated, it will be experienced. It will be a reality kids are born into, not a hopeful land in our sights, unsettled.

While we aren’t there today, they will talk about these days with awe and wonder, imagining what it must’ve been like to be around for the death of fiat and the dawn of Bitcoin.

We get to see the Sun rise. We get to witness that beautiful ball of warm, golden light trickle across the global landscape of consciousness, moment by moment, domino by domino, until Mother Earth is completely filled and held by its love.

It’s an absolutely Divine time to be alive.
