To me, it’s more:

“What’s my experience with money?”

That includes, “What am I waking up in the morning and doing in relation to money?”

“What value am I creating, and from what state of being am I creating that value?”

“The time and the energy that I’m giving to the world in exchange for money. Where is that coming from? And how am I optimizing for that financially?”

When you move to Bitcoin, what happens?

You get more time and energy over time because the money goes up in value over time.

We can get into the reasons for that, but that’s not necessarily the purpose of this video or article. For now, Bitcoin goes up in value over time.

What does that mean?

You get more time and energy.

And what does that mean?

That means you get more time and energy to dedicate yourself freely to the things that your heart and soul truly want to be dedicated to.

Then it becomes, “Okay, what do I actually want to create?”

“What am I passionate about? What do I want to offer to the world? What do I want to see in the world? What do I want to experience?”

“What do I want to experience in general as it relates to money?”

Making money is great.

I am all for making more money.

But from what place are you doing it?

Are you doing it from a place of lack, “Ooh, I need more money so that I can be financially free.” Or, “I need more money so I can be okay?”

“I’m chasing more money because I don’t have enough.”

Or is it, “No, I’ve shifted to a system where I have enough money. There is enough money. My money is going up over time.”

From that place, “What do I want to dedicate myself to? Do I want to maybe sacrifice a little bit of my heart’s true desires to go make a little bit more money so I can stack more Bitcoin?”

Okay, fine. But I’m making the decision about my experience with money from a place of freedom, not from a place of scarcity or survival or lack.

My experience with money is being optimized around what I actually want to experience. There are different layers to that.

I want to build and provide for a family.

That’s part of what I want to optimize for.

I want to optimize for having a certain amount of time every day to spend writing The Bitcoin Thesis so that people can really understand what’s going on with money.

Money is a tool to be able to do that. To be able to shape my experience with money. It can be used in many ways.

The more you understand money — the more time and energy you spend uncovering the truths about money — the more you’re able to consciously use money as a tool of creation, freedom, excitement that ultimately shapes your experience with money, which is shaping decades of your entire life.

Thus, spending time and energy uncovering the truths about money is worth as much as you value the experience of your life.

Subscribe for more here:

Share

Understand Money and You’ll Understand the World

This is part three in my series “I Studied Money for 10,000 Hours.

Cole Walmsley

This is part three in my series “I Studied Money for 10,000 Hours. I went to the eye doctor, and I spent three to four hours trying to literally put contacts into my eyes. I was struggling to do it.

But once I got both of the contacts in, I remember I looked out the window of the building and the world was in HD. I couldn’t believe the world that was in front of me. Everything was 4K clear.

Seeing the current system and understanding money, the history of money, and Bitcoin as the actual root-level solution to the system, it’s that contact eye-doctor experience times a thousand. And that’s a massive understatement.

I can walk into a grocery store and understand why I’m reading a paragraph of ingredients. I can understand what causes reality to shape itself into that form, to actually produce this slop in front of me that’s making people sick and diseased. I can understand why our food is getting worse over time.

(Hint: the money is getting worse over time)

I can see how inflation affects producers and how that affects the experience of consumers.

I can understand why we have tens of trillions of dollars in debt.

I can understand the perpetual war machine that we have, and I can understand how to make war unaffordable.

Which, as I’m writing this, I’m looking at this beautiful, pencil-drawn, hand-drawn work of art that was produced as 1 of 210 by an artist named Bitcoin Apex.

It’s called Peacemaker, and the top of the drawing reads Forge Blocks, Not Bullets.

<picture><img src="https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!glxy!,w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F2f3db488-eb06-4564-8106-f9d288f4c5cd_996x704.jpeg" width="711" height="502.5542168674699" data-attrs="{"src":"https://substack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com/public/images/2f3db488-eb06-4564-8106-f9d288f4c5cd_996x704.jpeg","srcNoWatermark":null,"fullscreen":null,"imageSize":null,"height":704,"width":996,"resizeWidth":711,"bytes":null,"alt":"Bitcoin - Why is war a business? Because debt is the money. Thus, if you’re creating something that needs more money, you’re creating something that needs more debt.

One of the largest expenses for a country and for a nation is going to war.

Central and private bankers make money on interest earned from debt issuance. That’s their business model. And that’s what the money is — debt.

Thus, one of the largest opportunities to create a bunch of debt and earn interest on it is going to war.

The playbook then becomes: manufacture war, create huge needs for debt, issue that debt, and earn huge amounts of interest.

Just like J.P. Morgan did in 1915.

The United States wasn’t even involved in World War I at the time.

But England and France came to J.P. Morgan in New York City and said, “Hey, we could use a bunch of money to finance this war that we’re in.”

And what did J.P. Morgan and his consortium of bankers do?

They created and issued the single largest financial loan in world history at that point. $500 million, created out of nothing but a credit agreement, which was made possible as all war-fighting nations and their allies had removed their money from the Gold Standard (just a weird coincidence…), which let them issue money unbacked by gold.

The day the loan was signed between J.P. Morgan, England, and France — and I discovered this in the process of writing my book, The Bitcoin Thesis (the full story is in the book) — everybody was gathered on the second floor of the J.P. Morgan building. Once the pen signed the dotted line of the credit agreement, the bankers started clapping.

You had a group of bankers celebrating, giving a huge round of applause for financing a war that killed more humans than any war in history at the time.

The bankers could care less about the war, they’re not fighting or putting their lives at stake. They’re making money off of it. They’re cheering for the war.

That’s when you start getting into the incentives of the business and the entire fiat system, which is to issue debt and earn interest from it.

“How do we do that?”

Let’s make the whole system run on debt.

Let’s make governments run on debt. Let’s make aspiring college students need debt. Let’s make families need debt. Let’s make everyone use credit cards. Let’s make everyone buy cars and houses with debt financing.

This is how you get a system that now has over $350 trillion of debt worldwide.

What does that mean?

The people issuing the debt, the private bankers — who are the people who created the system (see my post here on that story) — that’s how they earn money.

There’s hundreds of trillions of dollars of debt. The bankers are making a shit ton of interest from it, which is exactly what the fiat system wants. It’s what the system incentivizes.

Let’s create a bunch of wars constantly so we can create huge needs for spending, a.k.a. money, a.k.a. debt, and that gives us a bunch of interest. We get to line our pockets and get rich.

You take it to today… there’s a war that happens and then all of a sudden we’re at war, and people are like, “Why are we fighting this?”

Once you understand money, you can understand the answer: In the fiat system, there’s an incentive to be at war.

Someone gets rich off of the United States, or countries in general, being in a war.

Who are those people that get rich off it?

Those are the people that not only designed the system, they control the system.

They have control of the money printer. Their hands are on the money printer, which means they also get to start buying off and paying people to get into positions of power, a.k.a. the government, a.k.a. lobbyists, a.k.a. foreign politicians.

Look at the politicians who get elected.

These are the people who get the most donations, the most money, that then rise to power, that are then puppets who play out the system so that more debt can be issued. That’s the whole game. Whether it’s in the United States or in Bangladesh or in Africa, wherever it is, through the IMF, through the World Bank… Let’s make sure that we’re issuing debt and lining our pockets with interest. We can use our control of the money as a tool to shape the world, the system, and positions of power to make sure that we’re able to issue more debt.

That’s how the system operates.

That’s what has changed the most for me. I can see the root-cause.

I used to be a high school student who despised the school system I was in.

I went to government school all 12 years of my education.

I hated school.

Every day, I was like, “Why am I learning about these things? I’m not even interested in learning about these things. I feel like I’m wasting my time and my energy.”

I’m being told what to learn, and I’m not even learning things at school. I have to go home, do the homework, and, as crazy as it is, teach myself so that I can come back into school, take the tests and the quizzes, get the grade, and then say that I did it.

Even though now I couldn’t tell you 95% of the things that I learned, because all that I was doing was jamming information in right before a test or a quiz to earn a grade. To say that I did a good enough job.

“This sucks. What is this?”

That’s why I decided not to go to college, because, if I did, I was going to continue down that path. In my vision, going to college usually meant that what followed was plugging into the 9-to-5 world, which was the traditional experience of adulthood that mirrored the same exact system and experience that I so despised.

I said to myself, “Let me not go that way. Let me go this other way.”

And then, through the fate of the universe and the fate of God, and as nature would have it, I ended up stumbling across Bitcoin after making the worst investment decision of my life, monetarily speaking, which caused me to reset everything and start learning what I actually believed about investments, all based on the question: where is the best place to put my money?

I learned about many different asset classes, but I kept coming back to Bitcoin for various reasons.

Shortly after, I realized Bitcoin is the best place to put my money, because it is superior money.

Along the way, you learn about the current system that we’re in and how that contrasts with Bitcoin. You start to realize and gain clarity on how this current system is operating. You understand why government school is the way that it is, how government school is actually hindering the private side of schooling and the actual learning and development of our younger generations. You see how much creativity is being zapped out of kids every single day around the country and around the world as a result of government school.

My entire experience with money, which is all around me and all around us practically every day, has been transformed.

No matter what room I’m in, money is shaping that room. It’s shaping the energy in that room. It’s shaping the lighting that’s in the ceiling. It’s shaping the food in front of me. It’s shaping the prices on the menu. It’s shaping the clothes that people are wearing. All of these things, and that’s just a small list of many.

There’s clarity on it. There’s understanding. And there’s this stable foundation that comes with it.

When you not only understand money, but when you’ve shifted to the system that is the true root-level solution to money, which is Bitcoin…

When you shift into that system, I can’t even explain to you how stable and true of a foundation that is for me to rest my head on at night and experience the world through.

It is infinitely worth it, literally and figuratively.

If you enjoyed, consider subscribing or sharing this post

Share

Subscribe now

Most People Spend Their Life Chasing 25% of Financial Freedom

1.

Cole Walmsley

1. What do people spend way too much time worrying about when it comes to money?

They spend too much time worrying about their “external world of money.”

This is budgeting, finances, and making more money/earning more income.

“I’ll save more money by not spending $7 a day on my Starbucks coffee. I’ll cancel my Netflix subscription. I’ll buy cheaper food (which comes back to bite you down the line). I’ll save more so I can invest in the S&P 500.”

Then there’s the income side, which usually entails chasing a higher-paying job: “I’ll go work in finance so I can make more money.” Which brings up an important point.

“Finance” sits at the center of the current money system, which creates a hyper-financialized world. But why? Why is finance at the center, and why do we have a hyper-financialized world?

Because the money is broken: the money loses value over time, which means it fails to fulfill the purpose of money: transfer value across space, scales, and time.

Because the money loses value over time, the world has to create financialized products to compensate for the loss.

“Let’s create an index fund.”

“Let’s create a real estate investment trust.”

“Let’s create a mutual fund.”

“Let’s create hedge funds and private equity firms.”

“Let’s invest in houses, not as houses, but as investments, to make up for the money failing to do what it’s supposed to do.”

The core of the current system is monetary inflation. That inflation debases the money, causing it to lose value, which causes enormous amounts of energy to flow toward making up for that debasement. Which is the entire world of finance. Which is Wall Street. Which is all of the BlackRocks and Vanguards and the hyper-financialized world that we’re living in.

A lot of money flows to “finance” because the need for a solution is so incredibly vast.

How many people are using money that loses value every day? Practically everybody.

Well, then, that many people need a solution to that problem. But the system does not want to produce an actual solution (a different money system) because then the system would lose energy and wither away. Instead, the system produces a “solution” in the form of an adaptation. A product. Something that makes up for the difference, that makes the debasement of money feel better, but still keeps you in the same system. This is finance. And because both the need and the potential for a solution are so vast, there are plenty of high-paying finance jobs to go around.

So then people go, “Oh, I need to make more money. Let me go work in finance. Let me go work at an investment bank or a private equity firm or somewhere on Wall Street, selling these financialized products that I don’t really enjoy making.”

“I don’t enjoy working here, but it makes me money.”

That’s all driven by this external/circumstantial world of, “Let me make more money so I can feel more financially free.”

2. What matters far more than most people realize?

The purely external view of money ignores the three other pillars of financial freedom, which are the three things that matter far more than most people realize.

The first pillar is the understanding of money, which we already talked about yesterday (linked here and also at the end of this article).

The second pillar is the system of money that you’re in (also discussed yesterday). Once you get the understanding of money, you realize, “Holy shit, this current system is fucked. This is not in alignment with my financial freedom. This is not in alignment with financial freedom, period. Let me think about, and seriously consider, moving to a different system that actually is in alignment with financial freedom and does what money is supposed to do better.”

Which is a very simple equation.

If you were given the choice between a plane that got you from Los Angeles to New York in two hours and a plane that got you from Los Angeles to New York in 20 hours, which one would you choose?

You’d obviously choose the better one.

With money, most people are like, “Money A transfers my value over time worse than Money B, but I’m gonna stick with Money A because it’s what I’m used to.”

But, in reality, most people never make it to that point, because they’ve never questioned the money that they’re using.

You would quickly lose interest in Money A if you understood money and understood that Money A is failing to do what money is supposed to do. You would see that Money B is the better choice because you understand the fundamentals of money, the properties of money, and what goes into making certain forms of money better at transferring value over time.

At which point you would say, “Holy shit, I’m going to get out of this system. I’m going to Money B.”

The third pillar of financial freedom — and this is one that gets as much neglect as anything — is your internal world of money.

This is how you relate to money.

This includes your beliefs around money that were installed (mostly subconsciously) either in childhood or at some point in your life. It could simply be from your experience in the current system, which makes money feel like it is scarce.

Understand that the system itself produces the energy of “not enough money,” because fundamentally, in the debt-based fiat system, there is not enough money to pay off all of the debt.

<a class="image-link image2 scarce, that there’s not enough money, that you’re lacking money. To other people, $10 million is so much money that their nervous system can hardly handle the thought of it.

People have different relationships with money, and that shapes their experience with money. It shapes their ability to attract money. It shapes their ability to provide value and earn value.

Deeper down, it shapes their alignment with financial freedom.

If you want to be aligned with financial freedom, align with the four pillars of financial freedom.

The external world is still important — budgeting, finances, and income. You don’t want to be recklessly spending. You want to save and be wise with money. But also… actually understand money. Understand the system that you’re in. Choose the system wisely. Start to dig into your internal relationship with money and move toward the advantageous beliefs and truths around money that expand your nervous system’s capacity to attract money, and watch as you naturally attract more money and feel more financially free than you’ve ever been.

This is part two of a six-part series titled “I Studied Money for 10,000 Hours. You went to work. And you exchanged another piece of your life for a very particular thing.

That “thing” has a name:

Money.

But you didn’t trade your lifeforce for “money,” you traded it for a certain form of money.

After studying money for over 10,000 hours, I realized that the number one thing that most people misunderstand about money is the actual money they’re using on a day-to-day basis. Hours, years, decades of your life, spent working for a certain form of money, and yet most people don’t understand what that certain form of money is. And I don’t mean the name of it. I mean the nature of it. The properties of it. The functions of it.

Think about that… Most people spend decades of their lives working for something they can’t explain. It’s like spending decades of your life playing basketball without ever understanding what basketball is. It’s an insane thing to imagine. But I promise you it pales in comparison to the insanity of the current money system.

Then there’s the next piece of understanding, or the lack of it, which is:

What is money supposed to do for me?

Most people can answer that. They’ll say something like, “I work a job so I can earn money. That way I can pay for things. I can buy groceries. I can pay rent. I can save and invest and hopefully grow my wealth to buy a home someday and provide for my family.”

More or less, that’s the answer you’ll hear. But deeper, at the core essence of money itself, what is money supposed to do for you? What is money supposed to do for everybody?

The purpose of money is simple: transfer value across space, scales, and time.

That’s what we use money for.

We use money to take value from place to place, across oceans, from home to the grocery store. With money, we transfer value across space.

Money also transfers value up and down the economic scale. If you want to exchange your value for a house, if you want to buy a pack of gum, money is the tool you use to do that.

Lastly, money is supposed to transfer value across time. You earn money today. You want to be able to use it tomorrow, a year from now, 10 years from now, 40 years from now, and have its actual value held such that you can exchange its value for another piece of value. Groceries, vacations, raising a kid, and so on.

That’s what money is supposed to do: transfer value across space, scales, and time.

The slightly more esoteric layer is that money is supposed to represent your time and energy most effectively, because that’s what you’re exchanging in order to earn money. You give your time and energy to the market in order to receive money.

If you start a food truck, you’re expending your time and energy. Both the time and energy that you’ve spent in the past learning about food, what recipes you want to use, cooking skills, how to cut an onion, and then the time and energy that you’re spending to buy the ingredients, build relationships with vendors, actually get the food truck, advertise it, build out your menu. Then you bring the ingredients together. You make food. And you sell it.

Someone buys your food and gives you money in exchange. That money represents the time and energy you spent to earn it.

That’s the deeper layer of what money is supposed to be doing: it is representing the time and energy you have given to the market.

So now, imagine if the money you’re using is going down in value.

What does that mean?

The money you’re using is going down in time, and it’s going down in energy.

That means you have less time, and that means you have less energy.

The result?

You have to work more. Life is less affordable. You need to invest your money to make up for the loss.

Then you realize… that’s the exact experience of people who use the U.S. Dollar and all fiat currencies, which are guaranteed to lose value over time because of inflation.

Some people would stop there. Not here. It goes deeper.

Why is inflation required? Why do we have inflation?

Inflation is required because the Dollar, and the wider fiat system, is a debt-based system.

In this system, there’s an endless number of debt claims made, but money isn’t necessarily created when that debt claim is made. For example, when you use a credit card, you’re not actually paying with money. You’re paying with a debt claim. The hope is that you’ll receive actual money at some point and pay off the debt claim. When you extrapolate this out to the whole system, it results in there being more debt than there is money. Debt claims are constantly being created, but that does not mean that the money to pay off the debt has been created. The gap between debt claims and money is evidenced here:

<picture></picture>

<g></g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Okay, but what does this mean?

If there is less money than there is debt, there has to be more money created to pay off the debt. If not, then when the debt comes due, there wouldn’t be money to pay for it, causing the debt to collapse down to the actual amount of money that there is.

When you have an entire system that functions this way, it creates constant systemic risk, because there is constantly a gap between debt claims and money. If no new money is created to pay off the endless number of debt claims, the system would collapse. People would go bankrupt. Companies would default. Governments wouldn’t work.

In the debt-based system, there HAS to be new money creation. It is a built-in requirement to keep the system alive. That “new money creation” is what inflation is — and it is what causes price inflation. They create new money, and then prices rise (COVID is an easy example of this).

What is another side effect of the system’s mandatory inflation?

The Dollar loses value. The money you’re using and working for is losing value. You want financial freedom, but the fundamental tool that represents financial freedom is working against you. It’s like rowing a boat against the current. The Dollar is making your financial freedom more difficult every year because it is losing value every year. It is that simple.

Imagine if you held a stock that lost 7% of its value every year while trying to build financial freedom.

With the Dollar, and all fiat currencies, you’re spending decades of your life working to earn a stock that loses value every year.

And if you don’t understand that, if you don’t realize the nature of the Dollar, you feel this invisible antagonistic force working against you every day of your life, all while you participate in this reality and system of money.

This is why it’s so important to understand money. If you don’t understand the Dollar, you feel this huge, vague, constant, stressful money problem, and you have no idea where it’s coming from or how to actually fix it.

Then you realize… this is exactly why most people have this huge, vague, constant ball of money stress surrounding them at all times. They don’t understand the form of money they’re using, which means they don’t understand that it’s the money that’s working against them.

The single most important financial decision you will ever make is what money you will use. Why? Because the money you adopt is the thing that you’re exchanging decades of your time and energy for. You are saying, “I will trade decades of my life to earn this particular form of money,” and most people don’t even think twice about what that form of money is.

The vast majority of the world woke up this morning and went to work for money that made their financial lives harder.

Next year comes around and they say, “Why is my financial life harder? God, this system sucks.”

“It’s got to be the politicians.”

“We should tax the rich.”

“It’s the corporations. They’re raising prices. They’re causing inflation.”

No.

It’s the money.

The money is the system.

The political nonsense, the growing wealth gap, the corporations raising prices… they all sit on top of the same foundation: the money system.

The system is what enables monetary corruption. It lets central banks, in partnership with their politicians and closest confidants, print an endless amount of money to pay for whatever they want.

That is why there’s no debt limit. That is why we have $40 trillion of debt, because we’re in a money system that has an endless stream of money available to the government. What do you think they’re going to do?

Of course they’re going to take advantage of it. They’ll promise X, Y, and Z to voters and say, “Hey, we’ll take care of you. We’re going to spend more on education, tax the rich, and spend on these welfare programs to give you support and help.”

The system promises you things, and can “deliver” on them, because there’s no actual discipline to their spending. There’s no limit. They can spend and promise as much as they want, which is what they’re incentivized to do so you can vote them into office.

But that spending causes more debt. Which necessitates more inflation. Which makes your life even harder, putting you in greater need of support, raising the incentive for politicians to promise you more things.

The politicians are promising things in an attempt to solve problems from the same system that caused the problems. Which is why their promises never work. And that promise, and the delivery of that promise — which can happen because the money supply is infinite — is making the system worse, which makes your reality worse, creating more promises, more spending, and more debt.

It’s a negative feedback loop, and you’re in the middle of it.

<a class="image-link image2 We’ll walk through an example with “making money” since everyone seems to want that:

1. Vision

Get clear on what you actually want. Write it down. Don’t just leave it in your head.

Example: I have $1 million in my bank account. (BTC would be a much wiser form of money to manifest)

Now, visualize it. See the reality. You can write this down too, if you’d like. Don’t concern yourself with HOW the reality happens.

2. Desire

Actually WANT IT. Be intensely excited about the vision. Don’t come at it from fear, such as, “Finally, I have $1 million, I can survive and be secure.” Make it toward excitement, such as, “I love having all these resources available. I can create amazing things. I can fund projects that I want to fund. I can travel when I want to.” Feel intensely excited about the vision.

3. Belief

Now ask, “Do I actually believe this reality is possible?”

The step here is to believe that what you desire can manifest.

It’s also helpful to notice what pops up when you start believing in the possibility. If any fear-based beliefs pop up, such as, “Yeah, but how?” or, “I don’t have enough value to generate that kind of money” … investigate them. Replace fear-based beliefs with beliefs that align you with who you prefer to be.

“Gosh, I don’t know how this is going to happen” → “I don’t need to know how this will happen. I trust myself to follow what excites me and allow the path to reveal itself.” “

“I don’t have enough value to generate that kind of money” —> “People love giving me money. People love the value that I provide. And I don’t need to know exactly what that “value providing” looks like right now.”

4. Acceptance

Accept your belief and your ability to manifest your vision as being true.

“It isn’t merely theoretically possible for someone. I accept that this is genuinely available to me and that I am capable of manifesting it.”

5. Intent

Not: “That would be nice.”

More: “Yes. This is the reality I choose to move toward. I choose to create substantial wealth. I choose to have $1 million in my bank account.”

Bring ENERGY to your intent. It’s not a dull “I choose to have $1 million,” it is a DECLARATION OF INTENT TO THE UNIVERSE.

6. Action

Act and behave like your desire has already manifested. This doesn’t mean pretending your current physical bank account has $1 million in it. It’s more, “How do I feel walking into a coffee shop with $1 million in my bank account? How do I feel taking a shower with $1 million in my bank account? How do I feel knowing I have $1 million in my bank account while doing anything?”

“How do I go about creating things knowing there is $1 million in my bank account?” This doesn’t mean spending $1 million, it means what state am I in while having $1 million? You live, act, and behave from that state. You move. Create. Call someone. Write. Build. Sell. Explore. You take whichever available action contains the most excitement, curiosity, or attraction.

7. Allowance

Detach from the outcome. Be intense in your desire for $1 million without any expectation about how, when, or through what mechanism it manifests.

There is zero insistence that any particular business, product, video, book, person, opportunity, or action has to produce the $1 million.

You drop any idea that there is a mechanism that has to, needs to, or will produce $1 million. You completely drop the need to figure out how to make $1 million and simply pursue the excitement of life from the place of already having $1 million.

“I embody the state of someone who already has $1 million, and from that state I follow whatever action has the most excitement, without requiring that action to be THE thing that creates the money.”

Desire the $1M intensely.
Believe it.
Accept it.
Choose it.
Live from it.
Act fully.
Demand absolutely nothing about how it arrives.

Watch physical reality rearrange around your state. A vegan restaurant attracts a certain type of person, because the restaurant has its own state of being (some people would call this “frequency”).

Much the same, you attract a certain level of wealth (and people, and job opportunities, and thoughts, and experiences… everything (do you get it yet?)), because of your state of being. What you put out is what you get back. It’s not about the literal things that you put out, it’s the state of being that you are inhabiting when you put those things out.

Manifestation is about changing your state of being now — through the seven sequential steps — in order to attract what you desire.

ZERO INSISTENCE

Are you racing against time?

Have you ever felt like you don’t have enough time?

Cole Walmsley

Have you ever felt like you don’t have enough time? Or that you just want to get something over with?

I noticed there’s a “race against time.”

There's also a “hunt to find the right thing.”

When you're in this paradigm of racing against time and hunting for the right thing, both of which are falsehoods, you get this never-ending experience of looking for the right thing and never actually finding it, and always feeling like time is working against you in your pursuit of it, in the sense of, “Shoot, I'm not gonna have time to find it. I'm gonna run out of time. Oh, if I do this thing here, I won't have time to hunt down the thing.”

There's also an experience of time that is not right here. Or, there can be an experience of time that is not right here. For example, I'm lying on my couch recording this voice memo right now. Before I lied down to record it, I had this thought and realization that I had washed my bedsheets in the laundry machine today, and they're sitting in my room waiting to be put over my bed, and my bed is waiting to be made before I go to sleep.

In that thought, I went from “sitting on my couch” to “in my bed,” and then because that activity — making my bed — couldn't possibly be the “right thing,” it felt like I was losing time. All imagined in my head in this experience of time that wasn't, in some sense, right here, right now, because it wasn't where I was right here, right now.

In the imagination, I wanted to “just get it over with.” And then I felt in my body a slight contraction because I was experiencing time, and I was experiencing the lack of the pursuit of the right thing. I was losing time and I wasn't finding the right thing. Hence, contraction. But are either of those things true? Is time even true? Is this race against time true? And is the right thing, and the hunting of the right thing, even true and possible and real? What time is there other than right now, ever?

Maybe me making my bed exists. But at the same time, does it? Because it's not what's here. Then the experiencing or the imagining of me making my bed in that “future” actually creates time because it creates something that's not here and right now. And thus that's either the past or it's the future, which brings me out of the “present.”

But yet, that imagined future and that remembered past is experienced in the right here, right now. So the imagined reality of time isn't actually time. It's still right here and right now, which is all it's ever been. There is no race against time because time doesn't actually exist.

Because it's always right here and right now, there's no actual lapsing of time. There's no, “okay, it's right here, right now, and then now it's right here, right now. And now it's right here, right now. And now it's right here, right now.” What has elapsed? Experience has happened. But is that time, or is that an individual, indivisible moment of infinity and an individual expression of infinity (which is always happening all of the time)?. Constant expressions of infinity that you're experiencing, which are always right here, right now. So there's an infinite expression of right here, right now. And because that expression is so vast and so constant, we attempt to structure it into time to make it a bit more comprehensible. We create technologies that create “ticks” and “tocks” in the present moment that, continuously happening in the present moment, eventually add up to a certain number that we call seconds, or minutes, or hours, and so forth. That can be helpful to make sure we don’t overcook the boiling pasta, but it’s still a collection of nows.

And the other part, hunting down the right thing, is never a successful hunt because there is no right thing, just as there's no answer to life. Nobody has ever figured out life. There is no right thing. And so any hunt of it — the idea of the right thing doesn't exist right here, right now (which again creates time) — it creates a desire to not be right here, right now, and to instead be at the “right thing.” Hence why me imagining myself making the bed, which can't possibly be the right thing, creates tension in my body.

The only possible “right thing” can be right here, right now, in the full vastness of infinity. Because that already exists, you've already found it. So the hunt is completely pointless, and you can let it go and experience infinity, which is all you could ever want to experience, now.

So then when you're experiencing now, you have the freedom and the opportunity to say, “well, what do I want to experience now? What do I choose to do?” It's not, “what should I be doing?” Because there's no other should than right now, because there's literally no other possible thing than right now. And it's never not that way. Meaning it always is that way, so it literally cannot be anything else, which is why “should” is a disconnected word in reality and experience.

“What do I, as infinity, want to express?” And then you connect it to the formula: act on your highest excitement, to the best of your ability, with zero insistence on the outcome.

And if that includes making the bed because having a made bed with fresh sheets that I can comfortably sleep in at night is an exciting experience, I make the bed. Not so I can hurry back toward my life. It’s as an exciting, full, wholly given — to the best of my ability — expression of my excitement and my freedom and the experience of what it is to make the bed in that moment, which is an incredible experience and an indivisible experience of infinity, one that is unrepeatable. One of one within infinity. And I get to make the bed however I want and putting whatever energy into it that I want, and that creates the one of one experience I have with infinity.

These “chores” often come up in life with making the bed, doing the dishes, vacuuming, taking the dog out. Even the word we use, “chore,” and what it implies is hilarious. It's like it's some tax we pay before we return to life. No, no, it is life. It is the fullness of life. It is the current expression of infinity and its unbounded beauty and uniqueness. That's incredible. It turns the mundane into the divine, into something sacred. What's ordinary becomes extraordinary, constantly, because it's always extraordinary, because nothing is ordinary, because everything is a new, unique, indivisible expression of infinity in this moment, now. Warm water running over your hands, the sound of plates touching, your dog pulling you outside into the night air, the feeling of clean sheets stretching over the mattress, the hum of the vacuum moving across the floor.

We think of all these things to do as if they're taking us away from life, as if they're draining us of time, or pulling us away from the pursuit of the “thing,” when they are the thing, when they are all of time, when they are all of life. That's a beautiful connection to make, and a beautiful experience to have.

There's this hilariousness of life where it's like we're in the allness of life, let's say doing the dishes, but we're thinking, I need to finish this so I can get on with my life, so I can get back to my life. There is no on with your life. There is no back to your life. This is life. This is now. After the dishes is just going to be another now. It's now to now. It's just now.

Nothing is taking time away from your life because whatever you are experiencing is everything your life could ever be. That doesn't mean every experience is equally pleasurable, or that you might like one thing over another. You can like writing more than cleaning toilets. But while you're actually cleaning the toilet, there's no advantage in psychologically abandoning yourself while doing it. And that's where the extraordinary enters. And it's not because you're like, “wow, cleaning the toilet is amazing!!!!” You simply stop requiring the moment to be something grander than itself. And paradoxically, that's what reveals its grandness.

It's a completely ordinary Tuesday evening, right? You're barefoot. Your dog needs to go outside. You walk out. It’s humid. A car drives past. Some insect is making a sound. Nothing “important” happens. And yet, realize that exact experience has never happened before and will never happen again. Because it can't. There's no time. It's one of one within infinity. That's what's constantly happening.

We often create this hierarchy of experience where, ooh, launching a new business, that's really it. That's really important. But cleaning this pan after cooking dinner, nah, that's not really it. Folding clothes, nah. But yet reality itself isn't actually saying that. It's just life and life and life. Existence is expressing itself absolutely fully and just as completely through your folding of a shirt as it is you making a million dollars. Infinity doesn't become more infinite in one moment versus the next.

Maybe the craziest part is that “ordinary life” is the transcendent state that everyone is looking for.

We already have all the time we could ever want, and we already have the thing we’re hunting for.

Share

Subscribe now

You Don't Need More Financial Advice. You never missed a shot. Three-pointer, half court, foul shot — every single shot you took was a made shot. The game would be boring. Eventually you would lose excitement, because you’re no longer missing. Which is wild to think about.

I say that, and I feel that, because of this format. How I’m expressing the understanding and the knowledge I’ve picked up along the way — the last five and a half years and over 10,000 hours studying money, studying the current money system we’re in, studying what a solution to the money system we’re in looks like, understanding how to implement it on a practical level instead of just a theoretical level — that communication can be imperfect.

That’s why I like this type of format. I press record, I copy the transcript, I paste it, and there’s not a single edit that I make. I don’t chop it or cut it up. I just talk, and I share, and I see what happens.

I think there’s a lot of beauty in that imperfection, rather than a fully scripted video and curated piece of content that’s edited perfectly with no filler words and no long pauses. This is raw, real, authentic. I think the world is moving toward that type of energy and that type of frequency, and I think it’s something that’s valuable to practice and to express to the world, because authenticity and imperfection are the nature of the experience and the expression of life, and that is the most beautiful part of the experience and expression of life. Authentic imperfection.

I want to talk about four different things today. Four different topics. Four different questions, as it relates to money.

1. Why does money still feel overwhelming when there is so much financial advice available?

There’s so much financial advice out there, and I’ve certainly seen my fair share of it. Even yesterday and today I was watching videos on YouTube, mainly for research to see what else is happening. But there’s such a traditional approach to financial advice that I don’t think is actually foundationally serving someone on their experience, their journey with money, and their road and path toward financial freedom.

I think that largely stems from the fact that a lot of financial advice gives answers without first giving an understanding of the problem.

That’s not how math works. You don’t solve the problem and you don’t prove your work without understanding what the problem is that you’re solving. What’s x in the algebraic equation of money?

A lot of traditional finance advice is: budget better. Save more. Earn more, spend less. Make sure you’re investing in the right index funds. Invest in this stock, because of this reason and this reason and this reason.

But what is causing all of those things? Why is our money not the place where I can just save my money? What is the actual purpose of money, and how does my current experience relate to that?

When you get down to a question like that, you realize that part of the purpose of money is to transfer my value across time — and the money I’m using doesn’t do that effectively.

So before we talk about budgeting better and understanding our assets and our liabilities and becoming an investor and making our money work for us and putting our money to work: what’s happening with money that is causing me to do away with it the moment I get it, so that I can adequately transfer my value 10 years from now? Why can’t the money itself be the tool for my retirement and my savings?

There’s such a missing half of the communication, in my opinion, in terms of what’s happening with money and how to actually change your experience with money so that you’re not seeing and feeling money as this hugely vague problem that you don’t really see clearly, while you’re getting all of these answers from all sorts of different directions.

You could spend 10,000 hours listening to financial advice on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, podcasts, Substack newsletters — anywhere and everywhere. But if you don’t know what you’re solving for, and if you don’t really understand the foundation of money and the foundation of financial freedom, then how stable and true and real is the house of financial freedom you’re building?

The whole windshield of money, the lens of money, becomes clear. It goes from foggy to clear when you actually understand money and you see it for what it is, when you understand the history of it and the consequences of choosing this money versus that money. When that windshield becomes clear, it’s like, okay, I can actually see where I’m driving now. I don’t feel like I’m hindered in my money experience on a day-to-day basis.

When you start seeing money clearly, that’s when things really start to change.

2. What are you actually trying to accomplish with money?

Before you get into any of that, I think the first primary question is: what are we actually trying to accomplish with money? What are you trying to accomplish with money?

For me personally, money is a tool for time and energy. And to me that’s multifaceted.

On one end, it’s giving me the time — through the earning of money, through putting money on my side, and through understanding money — to be able to spend my time freely and how I choose. That means if I want to go to a coffee shop on a Tuesday morning, or if I want to drop everything at 1:30 p.m. on a Thursday and go dive in the ocean, I can. I’m not bound by money. There are certain levels to money, I would assert, both in the understanding and in the earning, that unlock levels of time.

On the other side is energy. Money is a form of energy, so the better money that I use is the better energy that I have. And the more money I have, the more energy I have. Then I can use that energy to buy healthy food, to make myself healthier, to make my day-to-day lived experience healthier and more vital and exciting. I don’t get sick as often. I can travel the world and go see other things. I can use the energy that I’ve accumulated to shape the experience of my life more freely and how I truly want to.

So what I’m trying to accomplish with money is, first and foremost, understanding the truth about money. What is it about money that is shaping my experience? What is it about money that I’m actually solving for, or what is money itself solving for? Then: how can I receive money, or how can I earn money, to unlock the different levels of time and energy in alignment with the truth of money? And how can I use the truth of money to my advantage in everything that I do in relation to money?

From there it becomes a game of alignment. When you understand the truth about money, you start understanding the truth about yourself, and what you actually want to do to attract money. In my experience, at least, when your lived experience is one where you can wake up in the experience of money and work while doing something that you actually enjoy and find truthful to you, money naturally flows to you as a result of that. That’s the real magical level.

A lot of people see money and financial freedom as an escape from reality. I can finally escape my job, or this current situation I’m in, and go do the things I want to do once I have this amount of money. I actually think the more profound and deeper and truer change is in transforming your relationship with money.

Money is fun. I love money. I don’t have any necessarily type of greed about it, but money is a really fun video game in a sense. There are different levels to it, and skills that I can get better at, and it’s also a signal to me of what kind of value I am creating and sharing with the world. In that sense, I can see money as a fun thing to have in my experience rather than a burden that I’m trying to get away from and escape. And that’s because I’ve changed my relationship with money through understanding the truth of money.

Everybody has their own equation for what they’re trying to accomplish with money. To me, understanding what you’re trying to accomplish with money — the why of it — is hugely important.

For me, the deeper purpose in relation to money, the one that relates to the time and the energy I’m getting from it, is building and raising a family. That, to me, is one of the highest purposes of being here, in my experience and in my opinion. That’s something I want to have time and energy for, and that’s not a short-term thing. That’s a rest-of-my-life type of thing.

So the better foundation I can build monetarily, the better father I can be, the better husband I can be. Then that shapes my next generation, and that shapes the people my kids interact with, and their future kids. It has this ripple effect. I think families are foundational to humanity. I think they’re foundational to nature. That’s something that gives me drive and passion and fire in working to earn money — but really to earn the time and the energy to be the best family man or father or husband I can be, because that’s what connects with me. That’s just what has naturally called to me for a long time.

My lived experience with money is different because of it. When there are inevitably difficult moments — setting up camera equipment, an upload taking a long time, writing something that feels like there’s a huge ice block in my head I can’t get out of — grounding myself back down into the why of what I’m doing in relation to money makes it easier, and more exciting, honestly. It gets me through obstacles and more difficult, tough times.

Whatever your answer is, is whatever your answer is. But gain clarity on it.

3. Why financial freedom always feels so vague

The third question I wanted to talk about is why financial freedom always feels so vague.

I would assert that most people can grasp the concept of financial freedom, and they can tap into the reality of what it would be like to be financially free. But it seems like a distant reality that isn’t very close to actualizing in any period of time that people would really be pumped about.

When you have a vague understanding of money, it makes financial freedom feel vague. It makes the path toward financial freedom blurry and scattered and chaotic. And then that becomes your experience. Your experience with money becomes blurred and scattered and chaotic.

When you have a really true view of money, and you’ve transformed your relationship with money, and you’ve understood on a deep level your why with money and what you’re trying to accomplish with money and what naturally excites you in the experience with money — then you can start to insert some of the second-layer pieces of financial advice. Budgeting, saving, what your assets and liabilities are, how much income you’re taking in, your expenses, all of that stuff. But now it’s built on the actual foundation.

When you combine those two things together, that’s what gives you a concrete, clear path to financial freedom. It’s one where you wake up in the morning every day and it’s like, I can see the path. It makes your experience way better, because you’re on the path. You’re in the boat traveling across the ocean and you can see the land. You have a map. It changes the game completely.

That, to me, is so valuable, and it makes waking up and feeling into money way different. Your relationship with money naturally changes when you put those two pieces together: the foundation of money based on the truth of money, and the second layer based on the more external relationship and experience with money on the financial side.

There’s the monetary side and the financial side, and there’s also the internal world with money and the external world with money. When you can see through and understand all of those things, everything just starts happening.

4. What it means to understand your current monetary reality

Which brings me to the fourth question: what does it mean to understand your current monetary reality?

It’s when you understand the foundation of money and the truth of money. And then you understand the second layer of finances — having clarity on the budgeting and expenses and everything that comes with that. And then you have an understanding of the internal world and how you relate to money: the beliefs that have been installed over the course of your life in your view and perspective and experience with money, be it in childhood or within the last day, or what’s popping up right now.

When you can see clarity on that and start to gain awareness of how your internal world is creating your external world — how your inner experience with money is creating your outer experience with money — then your outer experience of money begins to change as your inner experience begins to change.

When you apply everything together, it’s like the feeling of a great chef walking into a kitchen. They have this really grounded confidence about what they’re walking into. There’s no stress and chaos. It becomes an excitement and a dance and an opportunity to play and express with food and knives and ingredients and pots and pans, different flavors and spices. It becomes a joyous act and a really joyous experience.

When you really get to that place with money, I can’t tell you how worth it it is. It changes everything, because money is connected to everything.

If you were to really look around you — as I look around me right now, every single thing I’m looking at, even the air, which I can’t necessarily see, is connected to money. Through the money that pays for the AC unit that funnels through here, and the windows, my posters, the lights in this room. Literally everything here has money woven into it in some way.

A chef cooks three meals a day. Money is an everyday, all-the-time, no-matter-where-I-go type of thing, because it is connected to everything.

So when you can really transform that and change your experience with money, it changes everything. Your day-to-day experience feels way lighter. It feels way more exciting. It feels like money is on your side. That’s a really profound shift, and I think the world needs it.

A lot of it is understanding what system of money we’re currently in right now, rather than learning the next piece of advice on how to budget better and how to stop paying for Netflix, and don’t go spend $5 a day at Starbucks — or $9, as it probably is now at Starbucks — so I can save money and acting as if that makes the biggest difference.

Let’s go to the other side. Let’s go to the inner world of both money and you, and your relationship and experience with money. When you penetrate into those things and you start to see what’s actually there, the outer world naturally changes.

It’s the same thing spiritually. It’s the same thing physically. Your outer world is a mirror of your internal world. Your outer experience with money is a mirror of your internal experience with money.

If you can’t answer the question what is money. If you are unable to answer what are the three functions of money, what’s the purpose of money, what are the seven properties of money, how does a monetary network impact a money — those are the basic fundamentals of money that you should understand and be able to regurgitate with ease. The same way a chef could tell you how to cook a 16-ounce ribeye steak using the equipment and the tools in that certain kitchen, or in any kitchen, and then adapt based off of that.

Then you start seeing money way differently. And that clarity removes pressure. It removes weight. It removes stress.

In my opinion, once you start to ground yourself into the solution of money, which is already present, that’s when things really get exciting and the world starts making a lot of sense. You become more attuned to truth, because the solution of money is in alignment with the truth of money, which means it’s vibrating at the frequency of truth. If you’re in alignment with the solution of money, if you’re in alignment with the truth of money, you’re vibrating at the frequency of truth. Your reality is vibrating at the frequency of truth.

And truth, to me, is synonymous with love. That’s the highest thing we could ask for and the highest thing that we are. That’s the whole game. Love and truth. That is the direction.

It’s worth its weight in infinity.

The common phrase is it’s worth its weight in gold. Why? Because gold was the most valuable money previously. Why is that? Can you explain why that is? Why did gold fail as money? Why was gold so revered as money, and what was the key missing ingredient with gold? And then how does the solution of money that exists today fill in the gaps? How does it present itself as an actual solution to money?

I ask all of these questions because these are questions the typical financial guru or financial expert or advisor — whoever — doesn’t really ask about. They don’t really teach this. And this is way more important to me, on a foundational level, than a Starbucks coffee or investing in the S&P 500 with the disposable income you have left after every month. Those are second, third, fourth layer things built on top of the foundation.

If you’re really trying to build a house of financial freedom, build it on the foundation of money. Build it on the foundation of the truth of money. That’s the strongest, sturdiest foundation you can have.

It’s part of why I’m excited to build what I’m building and share what I’m sharing. How can I create an experience for somebody, and how can I create value for somebody, to literally transform their experience with money, so they can finish their experience with me and spend the rest of their life with exponentially more clarity and more excitement around their experience with money? Just like a chef becomes much more excited with their experience with food the more they learn the skill of cooking and the art of being a chef and the truth of food and ingredients and pans and temperatures and cooking methods and everything.

I’ll wrap it up there, because this has been a rip off the top and I think it’s time.

I appreciate you tuning in. And I’d ask you: in the comments, write out and think about — or in the other order, think about and write out — what are you trying to accomplish with money?

I want to see what your answer is.

Peace.

Subscribe now

Why your financial life gets harder every year

63% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

Cole Walmsley

63% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

37% of Americans finish the month either breaking even or going backward.

The average U.S. home is now more unaffordable to the average American than at any point in history.

Why is our financial reality so hard? Almost immediately, their country was pulled into a deep war with France. Shortly after, the English Navy was badly defeated, putting William and Mary in desperate need for military financing.

A Scottish merchant named William Paterson proposed an idea: the government could raise funds from the public through a new private corporation: the Bank of England.

The offer was simple:

Investors would provide £1.2 million in capital to the new Bank of England.

The investors would receive stock in the Bank.

The Bank would lend the £1.2 million to the government, putting the government in debt, but giving the country the money it needed to finance the war.

In return, the government would pay the Bank 8% interest on the loan.

Investors would get stock in the Bank. The government would get financing. The Bank would make profits in the form of interest. This was the birth of the Bank of England: a private bank created to fund a war through government debt, with the bankers ultimately profiting.

After its initial establishment in 1694, the Bank of England no longer turned to investors for money. They simply created paper banknotes and lent them to the government, supposedly backed by gold, however the paper money issued was past the proportional amount of gold reserves, a practice known as fractional-reserve banking.

Here’s the short version:

A group of bankers created a money system that enabled them to create money, lend it, and earn interest on it. The government received special access to the central source of money creation. In return, the government wrote the bankers’ system into law, giving the bankers the exclusive privilege to issue and control money, ensuring that the government could always receive financing, and the bankers could always earn interest. This was all the way back in 1694.

<picture></picture>

<g></g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Now look at what happened at Jekyll Island in 1910. Paul Warburg, in the top left, spearheaded the blueprint.)

You are in a debt-based money system. That is the system we have right now. 97% of all money that is created comes from bank loans. Of the remaining 3%, 95-99% of that money is created through various forms of debt. Effectively, all of the money in existence is debt. The money is debt, and debt is the money.

What’s the reason for this? A debt-based money system allows the people who create the money to earn interest on their money creation. The money system is a business: the executives are the central banks, the employees are the private banks and the government, and you are the customer. The way the business makes money is through interest earned on debt creation, which makes the aim of the business extremely simple: Issue as much debt as possible so you can earn as much interest as possible. Make the whole thing run on debt. Make governments run on debt. Make families need debt. Make everyone use credit cards. Student loan financing, auto financing, home financing, Chipotle burrito financing.

The bankers had a problem, however, when money was on the gold standard. The money was supposed to be backed by gold, which limited the amount of money the banks could issue. What did that mean? Business revenue was limited. Given the choice, it is better if business revenue is unlimited. Without gold backing, banks could issue an unlimited amount of money and earn an unlimited amount of interest. In 1971, President Nixon removed the U.S. Dollar from the Gold standard.

Today, there is over $353 trillion of total global debt. Now you know why.

That’s the system you are in. It’s called the “fiat” system, where governments, in partnership with their central banks, decree their money to be the money. There was never a vote. Citizens did not have a say. The fiat debt-based system was decreed from the top down, and you are living in it.

Now that you understand the system at its roots, you can start to see why your financial life gets harder every year. This is explained through the mechanics of a debt-based system.

In fiat’s debt-based system, the money comes from bank loans. But when those loans are repaid, the banks destroy the money. They create money out of thin air and destroy it out of thin air.

If banks stopped creating new money, loans would be paid off, and the money supply would decrease. But there would still be a huge mountain of debt in the system from financial debt instruments, government debt, student loans, mortgages, credit cards, and other forms of debt. But because the money supply has decreased, there are fewer dollars circulating to service that mountain of debt, making the debt harder to pay off. That would cause defaults, business failures, and bankruptcies. Thus, the system needs constant new money creation, for two reasons:

To ensure there is money circulating in the economy.

To keep the system alive. No money creation = the money supply contracts and the debt-based system collapses. New money creation makes the debt easier to pay off and keeps the system afloat.

The fiat debt-based system constantly needs new money to be created. And what is this new money creation called? Inflation.

Inflation is not prices going up. Inflation is the money supply expanding. Prices go up because the money supply inflates, just like rubber duckies in a bathtub go up because the water supply increases. The rubber duckies going up is not inflation, it is a symptom of the underlying inflation. (the government cannot tell you that inflation is actually the money supply expanding, because then your awareness would be pointed to the expansion of the money supply, which is the fundamental basis of the entire system. Instead, they tell you inflation is prices going up, and most people don’t look past it.)

In the fiat system, inflation is both mandatory and constant. As a participant in the fiat system, guess what you get to bear the weight of? Mandatory, constant inflation. What happens as a result? Your money loses value over time. Prices rise. Both forces work against your financial life. Both forces make your financial life harder.

The U.S. dollar supply inflates at roughly 6.92% a year, call it 7%. What does that mean? That means your money is being debased at 7% a year. “Debased” is a synonym for “devalued.” The Dollar is losing 7% of its value every year.

If there was a stock that lost 7% of its value every year, and I told you, “Go work to earn that stock every single year of your life,” how would you react? You’d probably say something like, “Why would I work to earn something that loses value every year? How would that make my financial life easier?” It wouldn’t. That’s the point.

Now imagine you weren’t aware that you were working every week for something that constantly lost value. You would feel an invisible, antagonistic force hitting you every day. A year would go by, your financial life would be harder, and the invisible force would still be there. Now understand that this is the exact reality for the vast majority of Americans, and not only Americans, but the vast majority of all humans. A fiat central bank is connected to every single country on planet Earth.

If you don’t get a 7% pay raise every year, you pay the price. Of course, awareness of this builds, be it directly or indirectly. Nature is an adaptive intelligence, so what is the natural response to holding money that loses 7% of its value every year? Don’t hold it. “Invest your money in index funds. Buy real estate. Get a financial advisor.” But none of those are true solutions. Why? Because they all exist within the same system that caused the problem. The only solution is to move into a different money system.

Fiat money is the biggest problem in the world, and it is also the least understood (because there is an incentive for it to be the least understood (the fiat system does not work if you are aware of it, see day 1 of my exposing the money system series)).

It follows that the solution to fiat money would be the biggest solution in the world, and also the least understood. The biggest solution in the world would also be the most valuable solution in the world. Now, let me ask you, what has increased in value the most since 2009?

Your financial life doesn’t have to get harder every year. The solution is here. All that remains is understanding.

Share

Beyond Infinity is the newsletter that transforms your experience with money.

The Weekly Universe

Volume #54

Cole Walmsley

“Rick Rubin’s fishing metaphor:

This is the sign of a true professional. prices — houses, stocks, land — because that’s where people run when their money is losing value.

Which is why working people who don’t own assets get crushed, even when the economy grows.

We live in a world of money-printers vs non money-printers.

Asset-owners vs non asset-owners.

This is what monetary inflation does. It divides people.

And the saddest part...

The dollar system REQUIRES inflation, because there is more debt than existing money.

Debt is a promise of future money. But that money doesn’t exist yet.

So, in order to pay off the debt, the system needs to create new money.

If $4 million in debt is coming due, but there’s only $2 million of money, you have two options:

Default on the debt and go bankrupt

Print new money to cover the debt

Total debt in the dollar system is over $107 trillion.

Total money supply is $22.7 trillion.

If there is no inflation, the system will default on its debt and collapse.

Hence, inflation. Over and over and over and over and over.

Welcome to fiat.

The root cause of all of this is humanity using a system where money *can* be inflated.

Debt can get to $107 trillion because there is an unlimited supply of money able to be issued. And there’s an unlimited supply of money serving as a backstop for it. They can always pay off the debt.

Issue as much debt as you want, you have a money printer.

Debt.

Inflation.

Prices higher.

Assets higher.

Average man poorer.

The solution is to stop using money that can be inflated.

The money supply can’t outrun the economy if the money supply can’t outrun the economy.

Satoshi created Running a Ponzi scheme by selling new bonds to pay off old bonds. Endlessly taxing you in every direction. Printing money whenever they want. Politicians retiring as multimillionaires on $174,000 salaries. Funding wars you never voted for. But here’s the thing…

Accountability won’t come from the system. That’s why Zeland’s concept of “pendulums” is so important.

A pendulum is anything that lives off your attention and emotion (energy-in-motion). Religions, political movements, businesses, group chats, diet trends… these are all pendulums that feed on attention and energy.

If the world collectively withdrew its energy from Buddhism, Buddhism would dissolve. If America collectively withdrew its energy from the Democratic or Republican party, it would dissolve. It’s like food to a person. If you stop giving it food, it will die.

Your government is a pendulum, but… there’s a key point to understand.

The Government’s Real Food Source

The government feeds on your attention and your energy. But that is not its primary food source.

Its primary food source is fiat money. The money they print, control, and force you to use. They have an unlimited supply of it. They can tax it however they want. They get to enforce the rules around it. Their money endlessly feeds them, by design. That’s why you can vote whoever you want into office, but nothing will change — because the money hasn’t changed. Their primary source of fuel hasn’t changed. The pendulum stays alive as long as their money stays alive.

That’s the key thing to understand. The money is the target. If you actually want to end the government’s fraud, you have to stop using their money. You have to withdraw your energy from their system. You have to starve them. You do that by starving the source of their food. If they can’t eat, they will die. If they don’t have their money, they will die.

If the government didn’t have an infinite source of money that they control at will, they could never rack up $39 trillion in debt. But because they do have an infinite source of money that they control at will, they have an endless source of food. That’s the target. It was never the politicians. It was always the money.

The Method

So how do you actually starve the pendulum? Zeland gives us the answer — he calls it “extinguishing the pendulum.”

Every pendulum has a script it expects you to follow. The script is designed to provoke a reaction out of you, to get you to swing your energy toward the pendulum. It wants to hook you like a fish.

For example, think of a hostile comment you receive online. That comment is a pendulum. It wants your energy. When you defend yourself, think about a clever reply, escalate, hurl an insult back — you feed it. The pendulum doesn’t care if you agree or disagree. It just wants your energy.

Complaining about the government only feeds the pendulum of the government. It’s exactly what the government wants. It wants you to bite. It wants to keep you in its frequency. It wants to keep you in its game.

So how do you actually win?

You don’t.

You leave the game.

Extinguishing the pendulum means breaking the script. You break the script by offering an abnormal response. When a pendulum tries to provoke you, you do something completely off-script, something that doesn’t fit the game it’s trying to play. You shift to a different frequency and play a different game. Suddenly, the pendulum has nothing to grab onto.

How to Bankrupt the Government

The best way to bankrupt the government is simple:

You stop using their money.

The government’s entire script is dependent on you using their money. Their monetary system is designed to feed them energy. When you work for their money, they tax it. When you spend their money, they tax it. When you hold their money, they quietly steal it through inflation.

The Trap Inside the Trap

Here’s the devastating part. To function in modern life, you need money, and the fiat monetary system is designed as a monopoly. They create legal tender laws which mandate the use of their money — and their money only — for taxes and debts. If you don’t pay your taxes in their money, you get fined, your assets get seized, or you get sent to jail. They coerce you into their pendulum under the threat of violence.

It’s the trap inside the trap. It’s not just that they feed on fiat money. It’s that they’ve made it illegal to not use fiat money.

For as long as fiat governments have existed, there was no true off-script move. You could complain. You could vote. You could move countries, only to find another version of the same system awaiting you. You were always left inside their monetary system. You were always hooked to their pendulum. The only real exit was leaving the grid entirely. You would have to stop using money, close your bank accounts, and disengage from modern life altogether.

People’s yearning to live “off-grid” is simply a desire to escape the fiat pendulum. But they made it inescapable.

Until 2009.

The Shift

Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin to be the off-script move. The abnormal response. The different game.

Bitcoin was designed to extinguish the pendulum of fiat. Previously, it could never be done, because there was never a different frequency to shift to, other than going completely off-grid.

Bitcoin is, for the first time, the truly different frequency of money that you can shift to. It doesn’t argue with fiat. It doesn’t demand accountability. It doesn’t run for office. It doesn’t ask for permission. It doesn’t try to reform the Fed, or audit gold, or pass legislation. It doesn’t even acknowledge fiat as a worthy opponent. It simply exists as a completely different frequency, governed by a completely different set of rules — neutral, fixed supply, no central party, transparent, mathematical issuance, permissionless. Every single one of those traits is the dead opposite of fiat.

Bitcoin swings the pendulum of money in the opposite direction — and that’s exactly what’s required to extinguish fiat.

The True Vote

No matter who you’ve voted for, the government hasn’t changed. The system remains the same, because the money remains the same.

The off-script move isn’t to vote with your ballot. That’s the script fiat wants you to follow.

The off-script move is to vote with your money. The off-script move is to stop using their money and shift to a different game. That’s how you stop feeding the government. That’s how you starve the pendulum.

The Reversal

The best part?

Zeland notes that when you extinguish a pendulum, its energy doesn’t disappear. It returns to you.

Every dollar you hold in fiat is energy you’ve been losing your whole life — to inflation, to taxes, to a government with trillions in debt. When you shift to Bitcoin, all of that energy comes back to you. What previously went to the government and all their closest friends now flows to you. That difference in energy is the pendulum being extinguished in real-time. It’s the power shifting from the top of the system to you.

The Exit

You don’t have to protest. You don’t have to vote anybody into office. You don’t have to wait for an election.

You can stop feeding their system, right now.

Bitcoin exists, right now. The real question is “What do I choose to communicate to these new cells?”

The options, according to Jenn, are: “Welcome to pain and misery. Or welcome to the party of vim, vigor, and vitality.”

I couldn’t say for sure, but I thought she looked at least five years younger.

Speaking of the pharmacopeia in your mind, here’s another miracle story from a reader named Kelly.

“My body gives me the hard proof that law of attraction principles are real and absolute.

Not only do I bless my food—I bless my body. I have a daily ritual where I look in the mirror and say I love you! You’re SO beautiful! Thank you, and then I hug myself and I talk to every single cell! Thank you, cells! I love you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I started this when I realized that each of us is our own personal universe commanding all these cells. Essentially, what we speak, what we believe act as ‘god’ (or creator) to those cells.

When I first started this practice many years ago, the excess weight I’d been carrying melted off. People asked me what I was doing, and I’d give them the utterly confusing answer ‘Just loving myself.’ That’s not what they wanted to hear. They wanted to hear ‘60 minutes of cardio every day followed by juice fasts and eating only cabbage!’”

Should we tell them, Kelly, about Lesson 209, about how love sets us free?

“93 years & 231 days old Ann Esselstyn dead hangs for 2 min 52 seconds! ANDREW HUBERMAN: “Your mitochondria function better, you increase ATP production, your metabolism increases in the presence of red light, long wavelength light to the skin.”

“Shine long wavelength light on somebody, watch blood glucose levels in a blood glucose test, and it’s blunted.”

“Now, the LED lights that are commonly used now, they are truncated so it’s all short and medium wavelength light.
